Q1 2025 Telecom Snapshot: Wireless User Boom Amidst Broadband Slowdown

Wireless user numbers saw a substantial rise, contrasting with a stagnation in broadband growth. The total number of telecom subscribers exceeded 1.2 billion. Wireless subscriptions experienced a surge, but wireline subscriptions saw a decrease. The tele-density also saw a slight increase. The internet subscriber base saw a slight drop, with a similar decline in broadband numbers. Wireless users consumed an average of 22.19 GB of data per month, and average revenue per GB was ₹9.11. Wireless ARPU increased. Gross revenue for the telecom sector grew, along with the adjusted gross revenue. Both wireline and wireless providers complied with key Quality of Service benchmarks.
