Google is engaged in the development of an Android-powered PC, as confirmed by the company. Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon has shared his positive impressions after experiencing the device, calling it ‘incredible.’ Google’s Rick Osterloh, Head of Platforms and Devices, mentioned that the project seeks to merge their PC and smartphone systems, establishing a unified technical framework. This strategy is intended to harness Google’s AI technology, including Gemini models and the Assistant, and to expand the Android ecosystem into the PC domain. Amon praised the device’s capacity to combine mobile and PC experiences.

Separately, Qualcomm is on the verge of announcing the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, its next-generation flagship chipset. This chipset is expected to power a majority of premium Android smartphones in the coming months and into the next year. The upcoming Xiaomi 17 series will be among the first to feature the new processor, with the OnePlus 15, iQOO 15, and Realme 8 Pro also potential candidates.
