R Madhavan, a beloved figure in cinema, has disclosed the intense performance anxiety he grapples with on film sets. The actor revealed that with every new role, his fear escalates, leading him to question his own acting prowess and worry about how he is perceived by those around him. His primary concern is that people, including his own assistants, might believe he has lost his touch.

Describing his internal state, Madhavan shared, ‘I feel like even my assistants are watching me and thinking, ‘It’s time to work with someone else now, he doesn’t know anything.’ That fear inside me keeps growing with every film.’ He recounted feeling a profound sense of dread upon arriving on set for the first day of shooting, imagining a chorus of unspoken judgments: ‘It’s over, Maddy is finished,’ and ‘Now he doesn’t know how to act.’ This self-doubt, he emphasized, becomes more pronounced with each subsequent film.

Madhavan, celebrated for his roles in films like ‘3 Idiots’ and ‘Breathe,’ continues to take on new challenges. His upcoming work includes the film ‘Dhurandhar’ and the Netflix series ‘Legacy.’ By sharing his personal struggles with anxiety, Madhavan sheds light on the psychological challenges faced by artists, demonstrating that even seasoned professionals battle self-doubt and the fear of obsolescence.
