The Indian cricket team’s jersey sponsorship is up for grabs as Dream11 is set to leave. This change is a direct result of the recently passed online gaming bill, which restricts games offering financial incentives. This will impact Dream11’s 358 crore rupees sponsorship deal with the BCCI. The Indian team’s jersey for the Asia Cup may also be affected. Several companies have expressed interest in the sponsorship, and the BCCI is expected to make an announcement soon.

    Key Contenders
Tata Group, Reliance, and Adani Group are among the frontrunners to replace Dream11. Tata is already a major player in cricket through its IPL sponsorship. Reliance Jio is also involved in sports sponsorship and broadcasting. The Adani Group has made significant investments in sports.

    Additional Contenders
Fintech companies such as Zerodha, Angel One, and Grow are also potential sponsors, as are automobile and FMCG companies. Mahindra and Toyota could benefit from cricket sponsorship to increase their visibility in India. Pepsi, with its history in sports marketing, might also seek the opportunity.

    BCCI’s Statement
The BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia stated that the board will comply with Indian laws. The BCCI will follow all central government policies. The board will soon decide on the new jersey sponsor. If a sponsor is not found before the Asia Cup, the Indian team will participate without one. The jerseys with Dream11’s logo for the Asia Cup have already been printed, but they won’t be used. The 358 crore rupees contract between Dream11 and the BCCI was established in 2023.
