Parliament’s Budget Session opened on a high note with President Droupadi Murmu’s joint address, earning glowing praise from Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan. He termed it expansive, insightful, and visionary in scope.
Via his official X account, the VP noted the speech’s vivid portrayal of India’s progress trajectory and a roadmap infused with optimism. It holistically addressed national development, embodying resolve for growth that includes all and prioritizes the people.
The vision aligns with forging a powerful, self-sufficient, inclusive India. President Murmu spotlighted successes over the past 25 years of the 21st century, with the recent decade accelerating advances in infrastructure, transportation, security, space exploration, innovation ecosystems, and social security nets.
‘Operation Sindoor’ exemplified India’s global standing in courage. Referencing Ambedkar’s philosophy, she highlighted proactive measures for Dalits, Adivasis, backwards, and every stratum, ensuring ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ permeates society.
Remarkably, 25 crore individuals escaped poverty in ten years. Empowerment of women was a key theme, boasting over 10 crore participants in self-help groups and a boom in ‘Lakhpati Didis’ achieving financial independence.
The extended session runs till April 2, 2026, with key events like the Economic Survey on January 29 and Central Budget on February 1 on the horizon.
