Chaibasa. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi while addressing an election rally in Chaibasa on Tuesday said that the tribals have the first right on water, forest and land in the country. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants to take this right from the tribals by calling them forest dwellers. It is our resolve that we will get them this right. Rahul Gandhi, who came to Jharkhand for the first time after the announcement of elections, addressed the gathering at the same Tata College ground in Chaibasa, where PM Narendra Modi had held a rally on May 3. He sought votes for JMM candidate Joba Manjhi from Singhbhum seat. Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi showed the Indian Constitution book in the meeting and said that BJP wants to tear it and throw it away. Whatever the tribals, Dalits and backward people have got in this country, it is because of this book. Our big leaders sacrificed for this book. It is because of this book of the Constitution that you get reservation and jobs. BJP wants to end this book and we are ready to give our lives for it.

The Congress leader raised the question of the low participation of tribal officers in the country’s top bureaucracy. He said that the total population of tribals in the country is eight percent. But, according to this, they do not have the right to spend even ten paise out of 100 rupees. Rahul Gandhi promised to deposit one lakh rupees every year in the bank account of one woman from every family of poor, backward and Dalits if the ‘India Alliance’ government is formed. He said that we will make crores of people in the country lakhpatis.

He also promised to give first job to graduates and diploma holders, and to increase the daily wages in MNREGA from Rs 250 to Rs 400. The Congress leader said that if our government is formed, we will end the limit of 50 percent reservation in the country. He said that Hemant Soren was arrested and put in jail for being a tribal. Jharkhand CM Champai Soren and Kalpana Soren also addressed this public meeting.
