Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Rights Yatra in Bihar has encountered a logistical challenge in Darbhanga. The initial plan to use Jeevachghat High School for an overnight stay was rejected by the district administration. The officials cited the disruption to educational activities as the reason for denying permission for the stay within the school premises.

The overnight accommodation was subsequently moved to the Fakhruddin Teacher Training College campus. The change in venue required permission from the Social Welfare Department, but without the approval, the program was relocated. The news was confirmed by Dr. Madan Mohan Jha, a Congress leader, who affirmed that the yatra would still arrive in Darbhanga on the evening of August 26th as planned, including the overnight stay.

The schedule indicates Rahul Gandhi’s arrival in Darbhanga on August 26th at 7 p.m. The overnight stay will be held at the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Teachers Training College campus near NH-27 in Darbhanga, with the yatra continuing from this location on the morning of August 27th. The yatra will then proceed towards Muzaffarpur via the NH-27 route, passing through various locations like Gausaghat, Gangwara, Kathalbari, Bhandar Chowk, Bela Mod, Bagh Mod, Kadirabad Shivdhara, and the Bazaar Samiti.

Former Congress President and program in-charge, Madan Mohan Jha, elaborated that the original plan was at Jeevachghat School, but administrative permission wasn’t granted due to the school’s purpose. The program will now take place at the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Teachers Training College campus and the nearby empty land.

Furthermore, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a Congress MP, is expected to participate in the Voter Rights Yatra, with her Darbhanga schedule confirmed. The finalized itinerary will be provided one day prior to her visit. On August 27th, Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin, might also join the yatra.

The Voter Rights Yatra commenced on August 17th in Rohtas, Bihar, initiated by Rahul Gandhi, aiming to address alleged instances of vote irregularities and ensure a clean voter list. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and VIP chief Mukesh Sahni are supporting the yatra. Throughout the yatra, Rahul Gandhi has voiced criticism against the central government and the Election Commission. The yatra is slated to conclude on September 1st with a grand alliance rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
