Unstable weather conditions have returned to Chhattisgarh. The Meteorological Department has issued Yellow and Orange alerts for multiple districts, indicating the possibility of heavy thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds, and varied rainfall intensities.

Districts under the alert include Sukma, Bijapur, South Bastar Dantewada, Mahasamund, Baloda Bazar, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Korba, Jashpur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Mungeli, and Surguja. These regions are anticipated to experience rain coupled with high winds. Further, Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, North Bastar Kanker, Dhamtari, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Raipur, Durg, Bemetara, Kabirdham, Surajpur, Korea, and Balrampur are also under the weather alert.

Authorities are cautioning residents in these areas about the risks of lightning and heavy rainfall associated with strong winds. The SDMA and local administration are urging the public to seek shelter indoors and avoid exposed locations such as open spaces, trees, power lines and fields during the adverse weather.

The weather forecast predicts heavy rainfall in South Chhattisgarh over the next five days. Residents should regularly check weather updates and adhere to recommended safety measures.
