Ranchi News: There is anger among the people of the tribal community against the construction of flyover on the land of Central Sarna site located in Ranchi-Sirmatoli. People blocked Sirmatoli Chowk for two hours (2 pm to 4 pm) on Wednesday against the acquisition of land at Sarna site. During this time, Minister Chamra Linda also reached and talked to the people. The protesters said that they will not give the land of Sarna site under any circumstances. People said that information about the Sarna site was given to officials and engineers even at the time of construction. Despite this the officials did not pay attention to it. During this period, traffic came to a complete standstill on the road from Chutia to Sirmatoli, Station Road from Sirmatoli, Bahu Bazar to Sirmatoli and the road from Sujata Chowk to Sirmatoli. There was a long queue of vehicles on the road. During this time there was an altercation between the protesters and the passersby.
Officers reached the traffic jam site
After getting information about the jam, administration and police officials reached the spot. During this, Bharat Adivasi Party’s Premshahi Munda, MLA leader Bhuvaneshwar Kewat, Raju Mahato, Chandan Pahan, Vijay Oraon, Dinesh Oraon held talks with ADM and police officials. It was told that the Sarhul procession reaches the Sirmtoli Sarna site itself and there is a crowd of lakhs. If the land of Sarna site is taken for the flyover, then the existence of Sarna site there will disappear. During this, people also raised slogans against the government and administration. During this time, shopkeepers of Bahubazar Shopkeepers Association also arrived and supported the jam. He said that due to the construction of the flyover, their livelihood will also be taken away. Officials said that their views will be conveyed to the government. On January 24, the jam was lifted after assurance of talks with DC.
Meeting held at Sarna site before jam
Before the jam, a meeting of the tribal community was held at Sirmtoli Sarna site. It was said in the meeting that only the land of the tribal community is always targeted. The land up to Sarna sites is not safe. People said that Sirmatoli Sarna site is the center of faith of lakhs of tribals and its land will not be allowed to be acquired. Pawan Tirkey, Akash Tirkey, Atul Kerketta, Juvel Oraon, Vandana Toppo, Kundarsi Munda etc. were present in the meeting.
