Ranchi: On the occasion of the 69th Mahaparinirvan Diwas of the great Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, a heartfelt tribute ceremony took place at Ambedkar Chowk in Doranda, Ranchi. Dr. Ambedkar was celebrated as an unparalleled advocate for social justice, equality, and human rights, whose dreams are realized when every citizen, especially the most vulnerable, achieves their full rights, respect, and opportunities. The event served as a platform to renew the commitment to advancing the cause of social justice and equality. Organized by the Adivasi-Moolvasi Janadhikar Manch, the ceremony involved garlanding Dr. Ambedkar’s statue. Vijay Shankar Nayak, speaking at the event, pointed out that in states like Jharkhand, Adivasi, Dalit, and other marginalized communities continue to be denied their constitutional entitlements. He called upon the authorities to implement education, employment, and social security as fundamental rights, uphold tribal rights over land and natural resources, ensure swift justice for victims of caste discrimination, and base governance on the principles of equality and justice. Nayak asserted that the realization of Dr. Ambedkar’s aspirations hinges on ensuring rights, dignity, and opportunities for all, stressing that the fight is ongoing. He further elaborated that Dr. Ambedkar’s contribution was not just the Constitution but the empowerment of millions, instilling self-respect and rights, and his ideology remains a beacon for equality, liberty, and fraternity. The attendees committed to collective action for building an India aligned with Dr. Ambedkar’s vision. The program concluded with two minutes of silence and a reaffirmation of dedication to safeguarding the Constitution and promoting social justice, conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner.
