Ranchi Police Raid Girls’ Hostel, Expose Sex Racket; 13 Arrested

Ranchi police have exposed a sex trafficking ring, arresting 13 people, including 11 young women. The raid took place on Sunday, with police seizing several mobile phones and other materials. Further investigation is underway. Based on a secret tip, the police conducted a raid at the Om Girls Hostel in the Lalpur police station area. During the raid, 11 women and two others were taken into custody for questioning. These women are originally from Bengal. Ranchi’s Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said that the police had uncovered a large sex trafficking ring that was operating in an organized manner. The ring was being run from the Om Girls Hostel in the Lalpur police station area. After an inquiry, a team was formed and led by City Deputy Superintendent of Police (City DSP) K.V. Raman. The team included a significant number of female police officers. The team raided the Om Girls Hostel in the Lalpur police station area and detained 11 girls. They are all being questioned. The SSP said that the initial investigation showed that the girls were staying at the hostel and were sent to various locations to meet clients. The police are questioning everyone to identify others involved in the racket and expose its network. The SSP added that the Ranchi police had recently taken action against the sex trafficking rings operating in hotels. After this, the people running the racket were changing their locations. Information was received that the racket was being run through a girls’ hostel. The role of the hostel operator in this entire racket is also being investigated.
