The raid was conducted after police received a tip-off regarding the exploitation of girls at the hostel, with reports suggesting the women had been brought in from West Bengal and elsewhere. The main person behind the racket is still being sought. Police investigations into the identities and documentation of the rescued girls are ongoing.
