The Pahari Mandir in Ranchi is facing a critical situation, requiring immediate attention. A government-appointed technical team has determined that the hill on which the temple is situated is unstable and cannot accommodate any further construction. The team member, who preferred to remain anonymous, said that the team is assessing the current condition and will submit a detailed report to the state government within six months. The temple is also grappling with a growing rat infestation, with rodents creating tunnels and weakening the structure’s walls, floors, and foundation. The rats have also damaged the roots of the trees in the temple area. The incomplete guard wall, designed to prevent soil erosion, is worsening the situation. The temple’s beautification efforts over the past decade have primarily focused on renovating the stairs. These stairs have undergone multiple reconstructions since 1947.
