Samajwadi Party stalwart Ravidass Mehrotra dropped a political bombshell in Lucknow, labeling AIMIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi as BJP’s ‘B-team’ operative on January 21. In a pointed rebuttal to Digvijay Singh, Mehrotra charged that Owaisi’s brand of politics fragments Muslim electorates, creating openings for BJP to consolidate power through engineered communal strife.

BJP’s strategy, Mehrotra explained, hinges on terrifying Hindus to harvest votes, with Owaisi unwittingly—or deliberately—amplifying tensions via inflammatory remarks that pit communities against each other.

Delving into BJP’s leadership paradox, Mehrotra criticized the anointment of Nitin Nabin as party president, a figure from Bihar’s ministerial ranks, while overlooking UP’s sitting MP-state head. ‘Words versus deeds—the mask has slipped,’ he quipped, exposing the chasm in BJP’s governance ethos.

Mehrotra expressed outrage over Bangladesh, where Hindus face systematic extermination, home torchings, and brutal assaults, yet the Centre remains passive. He advocated for ambassadorial recall and forceful interventions to curb the bloodletting.

Sambhal’s riot probe has unmasked police culpability, per Mehrotra, as judicial orders target officers with FIRs and seize properties of nominal accused, proving the unrest was a force-fed farce.

The episode at Sangam Ghat, where Swami Avimukteshwaranand clashed with authorities during Magh Mela, epitomizes governmental arrogance. Denying the Shankaracharya due reverence and dismissing his sit-in underscores a systemic snub to revered saints.
