History was made at Namibia Cricket Ground as Australia’s Will Malazuk blazed to a 51-ball century—the fastest in Under-19 World Cup annals—guiding his side to a comprehensive 8-wicket drubbing of Japan in Group A.

Japan’s decision to bat backfired as they posted 201/8 in 50 overs. Hugo Tawi Kelly’s patient 79* (135 balls) was the standout, with Nihar Parman (33), Montgomery Hara Hinje (29), Charlie Hara-Hinje (24), and 30 extras providing support. Australia’s bowlers dominated: Naden Kore (3/31), Will Byrom (2), Aryan Sharma (1), and Kase Barton (1).

In reply, Malazuk and Nitesh Samuel unleashed havoc, forging 135 runs in 15.3 overs for the first wicket. Malazuk’s masterful 102 (55 balls: 12 fours, 5 sixes) surpassed Pakistan’s Qasim Akram’s 63-ball effort from 2022. Post his exit, Nitesh Samuel steadied with 60* (73 balls), joined by Steven Hogan (15 off 20) and Tom Hogan (19* off 27).

Australia sealed 204/2 in a mere 29.1 overs, victory arriving 125 balls early. This clinical execution showcases their depth and aggression.

Player of the Match Malazuk’s feat not only secured the points but also etched his name in lore. For Japan, it’s a harsh lesson in a tournament stacked against them, while Australia marches confidently toward the knockouts.
