Chief Minister Rekha Gupta pulled no punches today, affirming that the Delhi government is in perpetual motion against air pollution—active across all 12 months and every day of the week. This comes as the city gasps under hazardous air, prompting renewed focus on comprehensive anti-smog measures.

Gupta’s address painted a picture of an administration in overdrive: anti-dust squads patrolling 24/7, water sprinkling units on high alert, and bans on high-emission activities enforced rigorously. She spotlighted the ‘Mission 365’ initiative, a first-of-its-kind program ensuring pollution mitigation never sleeps.

Breakthroughs include retrofitting 2,000 diesel generators to CNG and launching a whistleblower app for reporting violations, leading to swift penalties. The CM touted a 15% year-on-year improvement in green cover through urban forestry projects and school-led awareness drives.

Addressing skeptics, Gupta shared dashboards tracking daily progress, from reduced honking via smart signals to anti-stubble burning task forces collaborating with neighbors. ‘Our resolve is ironclad; excuses have no place,’ she declared.

With health emergencies mounting—asthma cases up 30%—and economic costs from sick days soaring, the stakes are high. Gupta’s vision extends to 2030, aiming for WHO-compliant air quality through innovation and accountability. If Delhi can sustain this momentum, it might just lead India’s clean air revolution.
