Bollywood’s iconic “He-Man,” Dharmendra, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89 after a prolonged illness. His death marks a profound loss for Indian cinema, where his career spanned over six decades and more than 300 films, establishing him as one of the industry’s most charismatic and influential stars.

Dharmendra’s legacy extends beyond the silver screen. He was also a remarkably successful businessman, with an estimated net worth of Rs 335 crore to Rs 450 crore (approximately $40 million to $54 million USD). This substantial wealth was amassed through a diversified portfolio including real estate, film production, and entrepreneurial ventures.

Dharmendra is survived by his wives, Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and his six children: Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta, Ajeeta, Esha Deol, and Ahana Deol. He was a cherished grandfather to 13 grandchildren and was known for his deep affection and close ties with his family.

His passion for acting continued well into his later years. Dharmendra’s most recent appearance was in the 2024 film ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.’ His fans will have one final opportunity to see him on screen in the upcoming film ‘Ikkis,’ directed by Sriram Raghavan.

Dharmendra delivered countless memorable performances in films that have become classics, including ‘Sholay,’ ‘Chupke Chupke,’ ‘Dharam Veer,’ and ‘Satyakam.’ His blend of rugged charm and emotional depth earned him a place in the hearts of millions.

The actor’s considerable fortune was built on strategic investments. His impressive 100-acre Lonavala farmhouse, a sanctuary of greenery and tranquility, was a significant part of his assets. Reports suggested potential plans for a luxury resort on this property.

His property holdings included numerous residential and commercial assets across Maharashtra, along with agricultural land. Dharmendra also had a keen interest in automobiles, possessing a collection of both modern luxury cars and classic vehicles.

He ventured into the hospitality industry with themed restaurants, such as ‘Garam Dharam Dhaba,’ which celebrated his cinematic persona. Furthermore, he extended his influence behind the camera as a film producer, notably with the ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ series.

Dharmendra’s journey from his early days to becoming a wealthy and respected figure is an inspiring testament to talent, hard work, and business acumen. He will be remembered not only for his iconic film roles but also for his strong family values, his humility, and his significant contributions to cinema and business. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
