On the occasion of Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar’s birth anniversary, tributes were paid to his exceptional contribution to Hindi literature. Dinkar, a key Hindi writer, used his poems to amplify the voice of the nation against the British colonial rule. He also stood against the policies of the ruling government after independence.

Ramdhari Singh Dinkar is celebrated as a leading modern Hindi poet, with famous works like ‘Rashmirathi’ and ‘Parshuram ki Pratiksha’, which touched the hearts of many. Born on September 23, 1908, in Simaria village, Begusarai district, Bihar, his legacy endures.

A seminar was held at the Jyotipuram Apartments Society in Patna, under the chairmanship of Ravindra Ranjan, President of Swami Sahajanand Kisan Vahini and BJP’s Regional in-charge, to keep his works and literary achievements alive.

Ravindra Ranjan demanded that Dinkar be awarded the Bharat Ratna immediately, highlighting his status as the people’s poet. He emphasized that Dinkar deserved the Bharat Ratna and expressed concern over the delay in bestowing the honor.

Ranjan described Dinkar as a visionary, a great philosopher and a ‘great creator of the desire for complete independence’, and noted his place among the most respected figures in Indian literature. Dinkar’s writing has helped to shape India’s civilization and culture, and provided insights into past events.

Awarding the Bharat Ratna to Dinkar would honor the sentiments of the public. Additionally, Ranjan proposed establishing a central university in Dinkar’s name.

Dr. Prem Kumar Mani, a renowned litterateur and former legislator, said that Dinkar’s poems reflected the spirit of struggle. He noted that Dinkar, who wrote of the Himalayas in ‘Renu’, later wrote, ‘Do rah, samay ke rath ka ghaghar nad suno, sinhasan khali karo ki janta aati hai’. Dinkar’s work remains timeless. The event was attended by many dignitaries, intellectuals, and BJP leaders including Pappu Sharma, KK Thakur, Anand Sharma, Sunil Singh, Sanjay Mayank, Pooja Rituraj, and Gyaneshwar Rai.
