Renault is set to bring the next-generation Duster to India, with an expected launch either this year or in 2026. The new Duster will likely be available in both 5-seater and 7-seater configurations, similar to the Bigster and Boreal versions sold in Europe. Spy shots taken in Brazil provide the first clear look at the SUV’s front, although it was heavily camouflaged.

The front design appears redesigned, featuring a continuous layout that integrates the front grille and headlights. A prominent Renault logo is placed in the center of the grille. The Indian version, seen testing in Bangalore, mirrors the international design. Distinctive features include V-shaped tail lamps and a notched roof-mounted spoiler, giving it a sporty appearance. The tailgate features a contoured design, along with features like thick wheel arch cladding, a shark fin antenna, roof rails, a rear washer and wiper, and a raked windshield, similar to the European model.

The new Duster is built on the CMF-B modular platform, also used in vehicles from Dacia, Renault, and Nissan. The new Renault Duster is anticipated to come with three primary powertrain options: a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine, paired with two electric motors and powered by a 1.2 kWh battery pack, delivering 138 hp; a 1.2-litre petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, generating 128.2 hp; and a 1.0-litre petrol-LPG dual-fuel engine, producing 98.6 hp, mated to a 6-speed transmission that powers all four wheels.

The new-generation Duster is expected to include a comprehensive feature set, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital cluster, wireless smartphone mirroring, OTA updates, and dual-zone AC. Safety features will include six airbags, rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera. It may also offer ADAS features like autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist, and blind spot monitoring. The current Dacia Duster achieved a 3-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests.
