Intensified efforts from Telangana are underway to unlock the Hyderabad Metro Phase-II. On Tuesday, CM A Revanth Reddy disclosed sustained engagement with central authorities for the project’s formal nod.

In his reply to G Kishan Reddy’s correspondence, the chief minister detailed compliance measures, including inputs from his dialogue with Union Minister Manohar Lal. The state vows to leave no stone unturned.

Addressing the minister’s concern over unappointed state members to the joint oversight panel, Revanth Reddy confirmed all requisites were dispatched earlier. He renewed calls for Kishan Reddy’s intervention to hasten this vital expansion.

Background: Kishan Reddy’s prior letter demanded Phase-I takeover from L&T to unblock Phase-II, already in-principle approved by the center. He highlighted delays and pushed for committee nominations to kickstart coordination.

This corridor extension is crucial for Hyderabad’s growth trajectory, connecting IT hubs, airports, and residential zones. Delays have frustrated commuters reliant on the existing 67-km Phase-I network.

Stakeholders praise the project’s eco-friendly potential, cutting emissions and travel times. Economic analyses forecast job creation and GDP uplift upon completion.

As Telangana navigates federal dynamics, Revanth Reddy’s outreach signals determination. The center’s readiness offers hope, but execution speed will define outcomes.

For Hyderabad, Phase-II isn’t mere tracks—it’s the backbone of a thriving megacity.
