    Shabbir Ahmed, Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla today inaugurated the Waste to Energy Plant in Rewa. The plant will generate 6 MW electricity from waste. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said that now after coal, water and solar, electricity will also be generated from waste in Rewa. The Waste to Energy Plant will generate 6 MW electricity by processing the waste generated from urban bodies. Speaking further, the Deputy CM said that while the disposal of waste will generate electricity, on the other hand the resolve to make Rewa and Vindhya clean under waste management will also be fulfilled. The Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated the Waste to Energy Plant at a cost of Rs 158 crore 67 lakh under the Integrated Solid Waste Management Scheme in village Pahariya of Rewa.

    Electricity will now be generated from waste from 28 urban bodies

    The Deputy Chief Minister said that from this plant the waste of 28 urban bodies of Rewa division will be used to generate electricity. He said that in making cities clean, along with awareness, infrastructural works are also required. This state-of-the-art plant will manage solid waste and the smoke coming out of its chimney will not be harmful in any way.

    The Deputy Chief Minister said that cleanliness is the most important thing in preventing disease. All citizens should join hands in keeping the cities and villages clean and become partners in fulfilling the resolve of the national movement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission.

    350 tons of garbage will be executed per day

    It is noteworthy that the capacity of Waste to Energy Plant is 350 tonnes per day. After generating electricity from waste, the ash will be reused and the harmful gases generated by burning of waste will be completely recycled and released into the atmosphere. This state-of-the-art plant is the 9th plant in the country which will fulfill the pledge of Swachh Bharat along with generating electricity by converting waste.
