The Rudraprayag-Badrinath route has been hit by a landslide due to heavy rainfall, prompting immediate restoration work. A passenger, Dilpreet, reported being stuck on the route for approximately four hours while traveling to Rishikesh. He noted the road was blocked by falling stones and debris, and that cranes had arrived to clear the path. This incident follows a cloudburst that occurred near Mukh village, close to Nandprayag Ghat in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand on July 8. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has stated that no loss of life has been reported, and a team has been deployed to assess the situation. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued an alert for heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand for the next four days. Additionally, the Kedarnath Dham Yatra in Rudraprayag district was temporarily halted earlier due to a landslide impacting the pedestrian track near Chhodi Gadhere.
