Ahead of the IPL 2026 retention deadline on November 15, teams are busy shaping their squads. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), fresh off their IPL 2025 title triumph, are reportedly considering a significant reshuffle, with several players potentially being released. These decisions will set the stage for the IPL 2026 mini-auction scheduled for December 2025.

While RCB has built a formidable unit, strategic player management is key to sustained success in the T20 league. The franchise may look to offload players who have either underperformed, are injury-prone, or don’t align with the team’s future strategy. Here are five players who could be on their way out:

**Yash Dayal:** The Indian quick, procured for Rs 5 crore, has had an inconsistent journey with RCB. Beyond his on-field displays, recent off-field controversies could be a driving factor behind his potential release.

**Liam Livingstone:** A big-ticket signing at Rs 8.75 crore, England’s Liam Livingstone has failed to consistently deliver impactful performances. This mismatch between investment and output makes him a prime candidate for release.

**Swapnil Singh:** Bought for Rs 30 lakh, Swapnil Singh did not participate in any games during the 2025 season. If he doesn’t fit into the plans for defending their title, his release is almost certain.

**Lungi Ngidi:** South African pacer Lungi Ngidi was acquired for Rs 1 crore. His minimal game time, featuring in just two matches for four wickets, suggests that RCB might be looking to bring in fresh faces.

**Rasikh Dar:** The final potential release is Rasikh Dar. With only two appearances and one wicket to his name, it’s unlikely that he will be retained by the franchise as they plan for the upcoming season.
