Bihar is ramping up its modernization efforts for the police department with a landmark approval. The state cabinet has cleared Rs 172 crore for building the ERSS and State Police Data Center in Patna’s Rajiv Nagar area. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary made the announcement, detailing the comprehensive project that includes furniture and foundational setups.

Chaudhary noted that such advanced facilities will streamline police administration and create an optimal workspace for personnel. This upgrade is crucial for upholding law and order and delivering prompt emergency aid.

At its core, ERSS is the backbone of the 112 helpline, channeling calls and messages to response teams nationwide. Bihar’s new center will enhance this network, ensuring faster, more coordinated action.

This fits into a series of recent developments: a fresh IPS Mess building in Patna, SP office in East Champaran, Dihri’s reserved office and armory in Rohtas, and a 200-capacity women’s barrack in Lakhisarai. The Nitish Kumar-led NDA government remains steadfast in providing modern, safe infrastructure for its police force.

As construction kicks off, Bihar positions itself as a leader in police tech integration. The initiative promises tangible benefits, from reduced response times to improved officer morale, ultimately fostering a safer environment for all residents.
