The ongoing civil war in Sudan has resulted in the alarming abduction of Adarsh Behera, a 36-year-old Indian national. Behera, who hails from Odisha and had been working in Sudan for the past three years at the Sukarati Plastic Factory, was reportedly seized by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Al Fashir. This event adds to the severe humanitarian crisis in the region, with millions displaced and a high death toll. Al Fashir, a key city in Darfur, recently came under full RSF control after a lengthy siege. Concerns are high for Behera’s safety, with indications he may have been transferred to Nyala, another RSF-controlled area. Behera’s wife has expressed her profound worry for her husband and their two young sons. The abduction highlights the unpredictable and dangerous conditions within Sudan, impacting both the local population and foreign residents.
