The ‘Rashtradharma’ magazine organized a special event at Bhagidari Bhawan in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, to celebrate the centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The event centered around the unveiling of a special edition, ‘Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh: 100 Years of Thought Journey.’

Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, RSS Sarkaryavah, served as the chief guest and discussed ‘Rashtradharma’ as a timeless duty, emphasizing the importance of national service for every Indian citizen. He highlighted the magazine’s establishment during the difficult period of 1948-49, designed to foster ideological change in society rather than for profit.

Hosabale discussed the concept of a ‘swayamsevak,’ emphasizing the belief in being an integral part of society. He reflected on the RSS’s century-long history, recalling the sacrifices and hardships faced by its members, all the while remaining committed to their goals. He also acknowledged the significant contributions of Deendayal Upadhyaya and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

He further stated that as India emerges as a global leader, the nation must guide the world with its spirituality, culture, and values. He underscored that the RSS’s mission is to refine individuals, rather than solely building an organization.

The event also looked back at the history of the ‘Rashtradharma’ magazine. It was noted that its first issue, published on August 31, 1947, included Deendayal Upadhyaya’s article ‘Chiti’ and Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s poem ‘Hindu Tan Man’. Deendayal ji operated the printing machine, while Atal ji personally distributed copies on a bicycle.

The event was presided over by Vinod Solanki, and featured Aarti Rana as a special guest, who shared her insights on the empowerment of Tharu women. Attendees included All India Pracharak Pramukh Swantaranjan ji, Cabinet Minister Aseem Arun, and Mayor Sushma Kharkwal. The program concluded with the national anthem.
