Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, has stated that no meeting is currently planned between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This announcement follows former US President Donald Trump’s attempts to arrange such a meeting. Trump had stated that he had contacted both leaders and begun arrangements for a summit, which would be followed by a trilateral meeting. Lavrov indicated that Putin is open to a meeting with Zelensky, but only when the agenda is prepared. He highlighted that the US holds certain principles which must be accepted, including no NATO membership for Ukraine and discussions on territorial issues, but Zelensky reportedly rejected these.
