A daring police operation in Delhi’s Dwarka sector has exposed deep connections to the Saddam Gauri gang, resulting in the arrest of two criminals armed with country-made pistols. The Anti Auto Theft Squad’s success on January 11 recovered two weapons and live rounds, thwarting potential extortion and violence.

Leading the duo is Ravi alias Budhi alias Jalebi, 37, with a rap sheet of more than 14 offenses, hailing from Om Vihar Phase-3, Uttam Nagar. Paired with him is 21-year-old Nishant from JJ Colony, Hastsal Road, who furnished the illicit firearms. Ravi’s capture with a loaded gun prompted swift action, leading to Nishant’s takedown.

Backed by DCP Dwarka’s vigilant oversight, the AATS team – including key personnel like SI Dhananjay and supervised by Inspector Kamlesh Kumar and ACP Ravinder Ahlawat – acted on intelligence to set up the ambush.

Interrogations painted a grim picture: Ravi, lured by easy money, aligned with the gang to extort local narcotics and liquor networks. This intervention severs a vital supply line for gang weaponry.

Formal charges under Arms Act 25/54/59 are lodged (FIR 25/26, Uttam Nagar PS). As probes deepen, Delhi Police vows to pursue remaining gang elements, sending a strong message to organized crime outfits operating in urban shadows.
