Saika Ishaque’s over was the turning level: Harmanpreet Kaur as Mumbai Indians’ profitable juggernaut continues

Women’s Premier League: Harmanpreet Kaur credited Saika Ishaque’s over for Mumbai Indians’ eight-wicket win over UP Warriorz on Sunday.

By India Today Sports Desk: Harmanpreet Kaur credited Saika Ishaque for Mumbai India’s eight-wicket victory over UP Warriorz, saying her over was the “turning point” on Sunday.

Ishaque, who returned with three wickets, bagged the essential wickets of Alyssa Healy and Tahlia McGrath, which prevented UP Warriorz from firing within the demise overs. UPW had been restricted to 159/6 after the dismissal of the Australians.

Although Ishaque conceded 33 runs in her four-over quota, Harmanpreet stated: “These things happen, I have trust on her. That is why I brought her back and she got crucial wickets.

“The means they (Healy and McGrath) had been batting, we had been somewhat tense. But I knew that if we’re in a position to take one or two wickets, we may cease them, as a result of we knew (Grace) Harris was not enjoying they usually did not have anybody who may hit onerous. Saika’s over was the turning level. She has been the one taking accountability,” said Harmanpreet after the match.

Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet further said that she is “grateful” for the way her team is playing and gelling together in the short tournament.

“Very proud of the efficiency. I can not be grateful sufficient, the way in which we’re enjoying and we’re gelling collectively. This is the perfect event thus far. After 6 overs, the ball began turning within the second innings. I used to be somewhat shocked with that. Thanks to Nat, she performed very well. I received time to settle in,” stated Harmanpreet.

Harmanpreet, together with Nat Sciver-Brunt, hit back-to-back boundaries handy Mumbai Indians, the one unbeaten workforce within the event, their fourth win in a row. Mumbai Indians will subsequent tackle Gujarat Giants on March 14.
