In a display of exceptional batting, England’s Phil Salt dominated the second T20I against South Africa. He smashed a phenomenal century, showcasing an array of powerful strokes and record-breaking statistics. Salt’s performance included eight sixes and fifteen fours, resulting in 108 runs from boundaries alone. This remarkable feat allowed him to surpass Suryakumar Yadav in terms of boundary runs in a T20I innings. Meanwhile, South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada etched an unwanted record. Rabada conceded 70 runs in his four overs, with an economy rate of 17.50, becoming the South African bowler to concede the most runs in a T20I. This surpassed the previous record held by Kyle Abbott, who conceded 68 runs in four overs against the West Indies in 2015.
