The launch of the Samsung A17 5G in India is highly anticipated. Leaks prior to its release have provided information about the anticipated pricing of the Indian version. These leaks suggest the phone will be available in three different models. The device was initially launched in Europe on August 6 and comes in Black, Blue, and Grey. The phone uses Samsung’s own Exynos 1330 SoC, supported by the Mali-G68 MP2 GPU.
The A17 in India is expected to start around Rs. 18,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage models might be priced at Rs. 20,499 and Rs. 23,499, respectively. This suggests a soon-to-come official launch of the handset in the Indian market.
Based on the European price, approximately EUR 239, the phone is expected to be priced around Rs. 24,393 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage version.
If the Indian version has the same features as the European model, it will have a 6.7-inch Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone will also have an IP54 rating for dust and splash protection. It will be powered by the Exynos 1330 chipset, along with a Mali-G68 MP2 GPU, and will have up to 8GB of RAM, along with 256GB of internal storage.
The phone is expected to include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security. The optics will consist of a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front, it will have a 13MP selfie camera. The Galaxy A17 5G will have 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, and USB Type-C capabilities. It is likely to include a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging.
The smartphone market has been rapidly integrating flagship features into mid-range phones. The recently launched Realme P4 PRO provides better specifications and features in the same price range. With a 7000 mAh battery and a 120 fps refresh rate, the P4 Pro presents a stronger value proposition when compared to the A17 5G.
