Samson pointed out that while Mohanlal has been acting for 20 years, he has represented India for 10 years. He stated, “I can’t come in and say I want to do the ‘hero’ role every time. I can do the villain role, and I also do the Joker role for my country.” In a separate interview with ESPN, Samson discussed the intense pressure of the match. He said, “I really enjoyed the pressure actually. I have not played many India-Pakistan games, but today, I think the pressure was all over there. Three wickets down in the powerplay, so I just had to use my experience, calm the nerves down, and just watch the ball and react. That’s what I did, and it came off nicely. I think I had a really good partnership with Tilak, and really enjoyed playing the game today.” The match saw a shaky start for India, as several batsmen were quickly dismissed.
