The NHAI has launched the FASTag Annual Pass, a practical solution designed for frequent highway users. For a yearly fee of ₹3,000, private vehicle owners can utilize this pass to complete up to 200 toll crossings. This new system promises both economic benefits and increased convenience for those regularly traveling on national highways and expressways.
The FASTag Annual Pass offers substantial savings, with a fixed toll charge of approximately ₹15 per crossing, significantly less than the standard toll fees, which often range from ₹50 to ₹60. This initiative extends across all national highways and expressways in the country and helps users avoid the often lengthy waits at toll booths.
The annual pass is specifically designed for cars, jeeps, and vans, excluding commercial vehicles. To activate and start benefiting from the pass, users should follow the simple activation steps.
1. Get Started with Rajmarg Yatra App or NHAI Website: To begin, the Rajmarg Yatra app or the official NHAI website is required for activation. Ensure you have a reliable internet connection and the most current app version. The app is available for both Android and iOS users.
2. Sign In and Validate Eligibility: Begin by logging in with your mobile or vehicle registration number. Confirm that your existing FASTag is active, properly affixed to your vehicle, and linked to a valid vehicle registration number. Ensure that your vehicle isn’t blacklisted. Private vehicles are eligible for the annual pass.
3. Enter Vehicle and FASTag Details: Provide accurate details about your vehicle and FASTag ID. Upload required documents such as RC, ID, and address proof along with a passport-sized photograph, if necessary. Review all information carefully before submission.
4. Complete Payment: Proceed by paying the ₹3,000 annual pass fee using UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking. Note that payments cannot be made through wallet balance. Keep your payment confirmation for future reference.
5. Confirmation of Activation: Upon successful payment and verification, the annual pass will be activated on your current FASTag. Typically, activation completes in a few hours, although it can take up to 24 hours. You will receive an SMS confirmation. Before using at toll plazas, check the status of your pass through the app or the NHAI website.
