Several areas are experiencing significant disruption due to relentless rainfall, leading to traffic gridlock and other challenges. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather forecast indicating continued rain in the coming days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated in Tamil Nadu and Kerala over the next week, with a high risk of extremely heavy rainfall in Kerala and the ghat areas of Tamil Nadu on August 5. The Delhi-NCR region is also expected to experience a wet spell, characterized by partly cloudy conditions and light rainfall. Authorities are urging residents to take precautions and avoid hazardous situations. The Northeast and adjoining East India are preparing for incessant showers over the next seven days. Specific areas, including Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh, are expected to be heavily impacted. Other affected regions include Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, East Uttar Pradesh, and northeast Rajasthan. The Met Department advises residents to stay informed and prepared due to heightened monsoon activity expected in the eastern, western, and central parts of India, encouraging them to follow safety precautions.
