The National Commission for Women (NCW) is spearheading ‘Shakti Samvad’, a dynamic two-day interactive forum commencing today at New Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam. Aimed at State Women’s Commissions (SWCs), the event focuses on capacity enhancement, best-practice sharing, and tighter institutional alignment to champion women’s rights.

Building on the triumphs of prior events in Ayodhya and Mumbai, this third national conclave in 12 months exemplifies NCW’s dedication to federal cooperation in women’s welfare. With representatives from all states in attendance, it promises nationwide momentum for gender justice.

Kicking off with an inauguration by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the agenda features the unveiling of ‘SafarNama’, chronicling NCW team members’ journeys. Awards for the ‘Stay Safe Online’ poster competition will recognize youth-led digital safety campaigns.

Deliberations will tackle refining complaint mechanisms and probes, modernizing information systems and helplines, auditing state-specific legislations, and streamlining joint legal interventions by NCW and SWCs. Emphasis will be on propelling the ‘Child Marriage Free India’ drive, crafting district-wise public hearing frameworks, and mutual learning of state innovations.

NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar remarked, ‘Shakti Samvad unites us in purpose—streamlining coordination for faster, more effective resolutions that touch lives directly.’ Continuous such platforms, she noted, are vital for delivering justice, services, and protections to women everywhere.

As the curtains fall on Friday, anticipates tangible roadmaps and fortified alliances, driving forward a safer, more equitable India for women.
