The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 has provided a platform for young cricketers to shine, and Simarjeet Singh, who previously played in the IPL, showcased his potential in the qualifier match. He unleashed an impressive spell, dismantling the East Delhi Riders’ batting order.

Simarjeet Singh, who was part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024, had a season to forget. Despite this, he was a sought-after player in the DPL 2025 auction and proved his worth through consistent performances. This was evident in the Qualifier 1 match. Playing for Central Delhi Kings, Simarjeet made it tough for the East Delhi batsmen on August 29.

In a rain-affected match reduced to 15 overs per side, Central Delhi elected to bowl first. Simarjeet made an immediate impact, taking two wickets in the second over. He then dismissed East Delhi’s captain, Anuj Rawat. Simarjeet’s next wicket was Mayank Rawat, who had just hit a six. He took his fifth wicket by dismissing Navdeep Saini. He took 5 wickets while conceding 23 runs in 3 overs, contributing significantly to restricting East Delhi to 88 runs.
