Abhimanyu Easwaran, despite being a regular in the Indian Test squad, is yet to make his debut for the team. He has remained on the sidelines, waiting for his opportunity during the series against Australia and England. His father, Ranganathan Easwaran, expressed his son’s disappointment at not getting a chance to play. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly offered his views on how Easwaran can break into the team.

In an interview with The Times of India, Ganguly stated, “He is young, and I’m sure he will get his opportunity. Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Jadeja have all scored runs. The number three position is an area where he could be considered. It’s a spot where Abhimanyu could potentially excel.”

It was also revealed that Gautam Gambhir had a conversation with Easwaran, reassuring him of his hard work and that his time would come. The head coach of the Indian team also assured him that he wouldn’t be dropped after just a few matches.

Easwaran’s first-class record is impressive. Although he is yet to make his international debut, he has scored 7841 runs in 103 first-class matches at an average of 48.70, including 27 centuries and 31 half-centuries. His highest score in first-class cricket is 233. In List A cricket, he has played 89 matches, scoring 3857 runs at an average of 47.03, with 9 centuries and 23 half-centuries, and a top score of 149.
