A passenger on a SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru found themselves unexpectedly confined to the airplane restroom throughout the journey. The unfortunate incident led to an apology and an offer of compensation from the airline. The event has since gained traction on social media.
The flight, delayed by two hours, finally departed Mumbai at 2:10 AM. A passenger, in seat 14D, entered the lavatory after takeoff. The door malfunctioned, locking the passenger inside. Despite attempts by the crew to resolve the issue, they were unsuccessful.
The crew communicated with the passenger via a handwritten note slipped under the door, advising them to remain calm and stay put until the flight landed. The note went viral and was met with amusement. The flight arrived in Bengaluru at approximately 3:45 AM, and ground staff were required to open the door. SpiceJet has since issued an apology.
