Former England captain Michael Vaughan has blamed the franchise tournaments all over the world as the explanation behind gamers retiring from one format of cricket.

In his ODI retirement put up, Stokes additional stated: “Three formats are just unsustainable for me now. Not only do I feel that my body is letting me down because of the schedule and what is expected of us, but I also feel that I am taking the place of another player who can give Jos (Buttler) and the rest of the team their all.

Stokes, who made his ODI debut in 2011, was recently named as England Test captain. He led the Three Lions to a 3-0 sweep against New Zealand before leading England to a series-levelling win over India in the rescheduled fifth Test in Birmingham. He had an underwhelming ODI series against India as he managed to score only 48 runs in three matches.

“It’s time for another person to progress as a cricketer and make unbelievable recollections like I’ve over the previous 11 years. I’ll give the whole lot I’ve to Test cricket, and now, with this choice, I really feel I can even give my whole dedication to the T20 format.”
