Bengaluru Open 2023: Ramkumar Ramanathan and Francesco Maestrelli enter males’s doubles quarter-finals

India’s Ramkumar Ramanathan and Francesco Maestrelli of Italy stormed into the boys’s doubles quarter-finals of the Bengaluru Open 2023 on Wednesday.

By India Today Web Desk: India’s Ramkumar Ramanathan and Francesco Maestrelli of Italy stormed into the boys’s doubles quarter-finals of the Bengaluru Open 2023 on Wednesday.

Ramkumar and Maestrelli registered a 6-2, 7-6 (4) win over Colin Sinclair of North Mariana Islands and Miljan Zekic of Serbia on the KSLTA courts. Sinclair and Zekic changed Sumit Nagal and Mukund Sasikumar after the Indians withdrew from the DafaNews Bengaluru Open.

The Indian pair of Anirudh Chandrasekhar and N Prashanth additionally secured their quarter-finals berth with a 7-5, 6-2 win over compatriots SD Prajwal Dev and Parikshit Somani. Another India participant Arjun Kadhe alongside Max Neuchrist of Austria reached the final eight because the quantity 4 seeded pair defeated Petr Nouza and Andrew Paulson of Czech Republic 7-6 (5), 6-4.

Meanwhile, within the singles, high seeded Chun-Hsin Tseng of Taipei reached the quarter-finals after a hard-fought win over fellow countryman Yu Hsiou Hsu. Tseng gained 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 (4) to guarantee himself a quarter-finals place.

There was an upset on the day as France’s Harold Mayot defeated third-seeded Ryan Peniston of Britain in straight units, 7-6 (5), 6-0.
