By India Today Sports Desk: Former India cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar slammed the Indore monitor used for the third Test between India and Australia, saying no one desires to see bowlers dominating the batters from the primary session itself.

Australia spinners precipitated havoc on India because the hosts have been bundled out for simply 109 shortly after lunch on the primary day at Holkar Cricket Stadium.

Vengsarkar mentioned that the pitch ought to have even bounce to offer equal alternative to each batters and bowlers and if it doesn’t, then it results in “mockery of Test cricket”.

“The pitch makes all the difference if you want to watch good cricket. You must have wickets with even bounce so that both batters and bowlers get equal opportunity. If the ball turns from day one and first session itself and that too with uneven bounce, it makes a mockery of Test cricket,” Vengsarkar told PTI.

The former cricketer added that people watch Test cricket only if it is interesting, like in England and Australia.

“It is vital to get crowds again for Test cricket. You see that in England and Australia however sadly it isn’t occurring in India. People will come again to Test cricket solely whether it is fascinating. Nobody desires to see bowlers dominating the batters from first session itself.”

Matthew Kuhnemann picked up his maiden five-wicket haul, whereas Nathan Lyon returned with three wickets on Wednesday, March 1.

In reply, Ravindra Jadeja struck to take away Travis Head early on. Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne rebuild Australia’s innings with their 96-run partnership for the second wicket.
