Carlos Alcaraz to finish 12 months as youngest No 1 after Rafael Nadal exits ATP Finals

By India Today Web Desk: Rafael Nadal was knocked out of the ATP Finals on Tuesday after Casper Ruud defeated American Taylor Fritz of their round-robin match in Turin. With Nadal’s exit, teenager Carlos Alcaraz was assured of ending the 12 months as world primary.

Alcaraz shall be confirmed because the youngest year-end primary for the reason that ATP rankings started in 1973. At 20 years and ten months, Lleyton Hewitt was the earlier youngest year-end No. 1 participant. Alcaraz broke that file and raised the bar for future rivals who wish to problem him.

“I had one match to get used to the conditions and I felt my game was better today, I was hitting it with precision and consistency,” Auger-Aliassime mentioned.
