Guardiola hinted at enjoying “incredible tactics” within the first leg, and mentioned that it might be boring to play the identical manner all the time.
“It would be boring if I always played the same way. If people think I play the same against Atletico and Liverpool, I don’t like (that).
“The actions are totally different, the gamers are all totally different with totally different personalities. That’s why I overthink and create silly ways. Tonight I take inspiration and I’m going to (provide you with) unbelievable ways tomorrow (on Tuesday).”
Atletico de Madrid is known to be defensive in their style of play, sitting back and letting the opposition have the ball, Guardiola was all praise for Atletico de Madrid manager Diego Simeone, saying that his tactics are “more offensive than people believe”, and have a lot of quality in the final third.
“It’s extra offensive than folks imagine, he does not need to take a danger within the build-up however they’ve high quality within the last third,” Guardiola said.
“When the ball is in our half, how aggressive they’re, relies on the place and motion — they know precisely tips on how to play. In the moments of the sport, these conditions, they’re actually good.”
