Sprinter Hima Das introduced Assam’s conventional gamcha to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi throughout an interplay with India’s 2022 Commonwealth Games contingent at his residence.

The Prime Minister hosted the Indian athletes to hail their achievements in Birmingham. India completed fourth within the medal tally with a complete of 61 medals – 22 gold, 16 silver and 23 bronze.

Hima Das missed out on a berth within the ladies’s 200m remaining as she completed tenth within the semi-final on the 2022 Games earlier this month. The Indian sprinter missed out on the ultimate berth by the barest of margins – 0-01s. She completed third within the second of the three heats within the ladies’s 100m semi-final.

Hima clocked 23.42s however Australia’s Ella Conolly secured the second spot and the automated certified for semi-final Heat 2 with a timing of 23.41s.
