Armaan Jaffer, nephew of former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer, has been removed from the Pondicherry team. The reason is his decision to skip the pre-season inter-state tournament to play in a tournament in Yorkshire, England. This resulted in the termination of his contract with the team. The Pondicherry Cricket Association had informed Jaffer on several occasions to take part in the pre-season matches. However, he preferred to play club cricket in the UK. Armaan has been replaced by all-rounder Jayant Yadav for the upcoming season.
