The England Cricket Board has floated an concept of an India-Pakistan Test collection on English soil. The two nations haven’t performed a bilateral collection towards one another since 2012.
According to studies, the deputy chairman of ECB, Martin Darlow, has held talks with the Pakistan Cricket Board throughout the present T20 collection and provided England’s grounds as venues for ideally a three-match Test collection in future.
However, the BCCI was not very impressed with Darlow’s suggestion of a India-Pakistan Test collection in England. A senior BCCI official stated the choice of a bilateral collection with Pakistan lies within the arms of the Indian authorities.
“Firstly, ECB spoke to PCB about an Indo-Pak series and that’s a bit weird. In any case, a series against Pakistan is not something that the BCCI will decide but it is the decision of the government. As of now, the stance remains the same. We only play Pakistan at multi-team events,” a senior BCCI official informed PTI.
Meanwhile, England captain Moeen Ali stated the prospect of an India-Pakistan collection on English soil could be sensible.
“That would be brilliant. It’s a shame that they don’t obviously play each other unless it’s a World Cup or an ICC event but they’re two great teams and two massive playing nations,” stated Ali.
The England skipper additionally stated it might be one of many greatest video games because it hasn’t been performed for a really very long time.
“With the viewing [figures] and all that, it would be one of the biggest games because it’s not been done for a very long time. It would be a great game because Pakistan have a really good bowling attack as well as India now, and India have a great Test side. It would be really good,” Ali added.
India final performed Pakistan in a bilateral collection again in 2012, with the final Test collection courting again to 2007.
