In a strategic move, Hockey India reveals the 24-player Indian contingent for the FIH Hockey Men’s Pro League 2025-26 Hobart round, from February 20-25 at Tasmania Hockey Centre. India gears up for showdowns with hosts Australia and Spain, following their Rourkela encounters with Belgium and Argentina.
Double Olympic medal winner Hardik Singh assumes captaincy, injecting leadership into a squad rich with experience and emerging talent. Young guns Amandeep Lakra and Manmeet Singh, who shone on Rourkela debut, join the fray, compensating for Harmanpreet Singh’s personal absence.
The goalkeeping pair of Suraj Karkera and Mohit Honnenhalli Shashikumar sets a sturdy foundation. Defenders Amit Rohidas, Jarmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, Sumit, Amandeep Lakra, Yashdeep Siwach, and Poovanna Chandura Bobby form an impenetrable wall.
Midfield dominance comes from Hardik Singh, Sanjay, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Raj Kumar Pal, Rajinder Singh, Manmeet Singh, Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, and Vishnu Kant Singh. Forwards Abhishek, Shilanand Lakra, Mandeep Singh, Arjunjit Singh Hundal, Aditya Arjun Lalage, Angad Bir Singh, and Maninder Singh promise explosive raids.
This balanced lineup positions India strongly in the Pro League race. Hobart’s turf will test their resolve, but with Hardik’s vision, the team is primed to deliver memorable victories and propel their Olympic aspirations forward.
