Former India star Badani joins Southern Brave alongside Ian Bell

The Southern Brave cricket team has reinforced its coaching lineup by pairing former India batsman Hemang Badani with former England all‑rounder Ian Bell. Badani, who served as a mentor for the Delhi Capitals during the IPL 2026 season, will assume the role of head coach for the men's side. Bell, celebrated for his run‑scoring prowess in the early 2000s, will act as assistant coach, bringing a wealth of international experience to the staff.

Both coaches are expected to introduce innovative training methods and strategic planning, aiming to replicate the club's earlier achievements – a men's league title in 2021 and a women's championship in 2023. Their combined insights are set to enhance player development, particularly in the batting and fielding departments.

The announcement also confirmed that Jonathan Batty will continue leading the women's team for the 2026 season, supported by a fresh group of specialists.
