Akshar Patel entered his second T20 International against England as the first Indian spinner to reach 100 wickets, dismissing Harry Brook to seal the record. Despite that achievement, his recent form has been modest – three matches have yielded only 15 runs and two wickets. The upcoming fourth T20 provides a platform to reverse the trend.
If the team management slots him into the XI, Patel will become the fifth Indian to play 100 T20 Internationals, surpassing Dhoni's tally of 99. The achievement positions him alongside the elite group of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav, all of whom have already breached the century‑match mark.
