The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) introduced that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will kickstart on March 26 in Mumbai after the assembly of the IPL Governing Council on Thursday. The choice was taken at a gathering of the IPL Governing Council (GC) on Thursday (February 24) night.

The 10-team IPL version can have 70 league matches and can start simply 11 days after the Indian cricket group finishes its ongoing task towards Sri Lanka. The league stage of the Indian Premier League 2022 can be performed throughout 4 venues in Mumbai and Pune with the ultimate scheduled to be performed on May 29 in Ahmedabad because of the coronavirus pandemic.

55 league matches can be held in Mumbai, whereas 15 can be performed in Pune. Each group will play 4 matches on the Wankhede Stadium and the DY Patil Stadium and three every on the Brabourne Stadium and the MCA Stadium. The IPL 2022 remaining can be performed on May 30 at Narendra Modi Stadium, popularly often known as Motera Stadium, in Ahmedabad. Playoffs may also be performed at Motera Stadium.

The IPL 2022, which sees the addition of two new groups in Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, will witness a rise of 14 league stage matches.
